Matt Reeves Will In Fact Direct The Batman

This is brilliant news, after tons of despicable rumors of Ben Affleck leaving the role, Matt Reeves denying the directing job, and the overall DCEU continuing to fail, it looks like all things have come full circle, as Matt Reeves (the amazing director behind The Planet Of The Apes) will in fact direct the new Batman movie.

The next solo Batman movie has had nothing but crazy news as of lately, as we are still really waiting to see if any of these despicable Ben Affleck rumors of him leaving the film or being re-cast are any sort of true.

Regardless of that, Matt Reeves taking on the production and the directing of the film is exactly what the DCEU needs, as we really hope that Warner Bros gives Matt Reeves the space and freedom he needs to produce his vision for the movie (since they over shadowed Snyder and Ayer’s original directing).

It also helps that Reeves seems to have a serious passion for directing a Batman film as he stated via Variety:

“I have loved the Batman story since I was a child,” Reeves said. “He is such an iconic and compelling character, and one that resonates with me deeply. I am incredibly honored and excited to be working with Warner Bros. to bring an epic and emotional new take on the Caped Crusader to the big screen.”

So while the massive rumored back steps of the Batman movie have seemed to finally take a step in the right direction, we will have to wait and see which of these rumors are true, and who exactly will be a part of the Batman movie that is expected to get it’s start sometime in 2018.

P.S. I don’t think Ben Affleck is leaving the film or would even want to.
