Many 24 fans, including myself, were very discouraged with the 24 franchise that we could never get enough of, after the departure of Kiefer Sutherland’s “Jack Bauer”.
24 fans know, that there is truly nothing like the show that fed TV addiction like no other, as you couldn’t help but to watch and see what would happen next. Now those same 24 fans (like myself) have been left with Straight Outta Compton star, Corey Hawkins, who surprisingly looks “so far so good”, for the new 24 reboot.
Not only am I excited about his casting, since it is a major step to have a young African American actor play the part that Jack Bauer dominated, but I am even more excited for what is going to be the extremely long awaited return of Tony Almeida, played by Carlos Bernard.
Behind Jack Bauer himself, Tony Almeida was the character fans could not ever get enough of, as he drove us crazy with his turns from good to bad and so forth. . . .
It looks like this time he is going back to being good, as fans were thrown a easter egg, that seemed to show Tony being given a key to get out of that “life in a prison cell” confinement that we never thought we would see him again from.
Now, we get a glimpse of just how Tony Almeida got the order to be released from his cell, as we all just hope he can stay on the right side this time. . .
Watch the return of Tony Almeida in this exclusive 24: Legacy trailer below:
While we are all going to miss Jack Bauer, whose real life persona (Kiefer Sutherland) is an executive producer on this show, it does seem possible that Corey Hawkins will fill his shoes well.
The trailers do look promising, but the return of Tony Almeida, may give back 24 the buzz fans have been thirsting for since Jack Bauer’s “trade to Russia”.
We all hope to see at least a glimpse of Jack Bauer, in the future of 24, so I hope that this soft reboot of the TV series we all were addicted to, does well enough to keep fans wanting more and more!
