Here is Why Jeffrey Dean Morgan As Batman Should Happen
As many of you may know by now, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was asked if he would like to ever play Batman at Denver’s Comic Con. His response via Screen Rant was,
“Man, I would love to play that Batman… It would be very cool. Flashpoint would be very cool.”
As many of you also know, with comic book stories and movies there is often an emphasis on alternate realities and/or timelines. Specifically in a comic arc known as the Flashpoint ( involving The Flash ), an alternate universe is pushed into existence and Thomas Wayne ( Bruce Wayne’s father ) becomes the Batman instead.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who is known for his darker roles in The Walking Dead and Watchmen, would have no issue playing what is a much darker version of Batman that happily kills in the alternate Thomas Wayne Batman story arc.
This is not to say Ben Affleck isn’t suited to be Batman because in my opinion he is, but it is to state that you don’t just cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan ( an extremely high praised actor ) for a featured extra role in a widely known movie franchise and/or universe.
Meaning, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has to see more screen time than the 30 seconds he received in Batman V. Superman. Darker comic roles are no foreign territory to Jeffrey as he made heads spin with his performance as “The Comedian” in Zack Snyder’s ‘Watchmen’.
Since Zack Snyder was also the director behind Batman V. Superman, perhaps he decided to cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan under the possibility they do decide to make a Flashpoint movie and have Thomas Wayne as Batman instead of Bruce Wayne ( making Jeffrey Dean the perfect pick).
I found it quite strange to see two star actors have such a small roles in a big film like Batman V. Superman, so it would be no surprise if this is not the last we see of Bruce Wayne’s parents, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan.
