The idea of a solo ‘Black Widow‘ film with Scarlett Johansson has generated buzz as of recent due to a recent polling by Fandango which suggested fans wanted to see her own movie the most.

The notion of a X-Men character such as Wolverine joining the MCU has probably been on some fans hearts since Spider-Man was able to join the MCU from Sony.

While many fans don’t seem to be sure of ‘Black Widow‘ movie having enough material to be successful, the Russo Brothers seem to say otherwise as they respond to the idea of a solo film :

ANTHONY RUSSO: It’s a no-brainer, right?

JOE RUSSO: I don’t think [it’ll take] much. I think it’s just a function of where on the slate it goes. She’s a bad-ass.

As far as Wolverine goes, if the Russo brothers had to choose one character they could add to the MCU they both seem to agree Wolverine would be their first choice as they state:

JOE RUSSO: Wolverine.

JOE RUSSO: First favorite character growing up was Spider-Man, second was Wolverine. One of my most-prized possessions is Incredible Hulk #181. It was his first appearance.

Do you have it graded or is it just in your collection?

JOE RUSSO: It’s in my collection. It’s sitting in a safe. I won’t disclose where it is.

ANTHONY RUSSO: I know where it is. And I would say Wolverine as well, for all of the exciting reasons that we all gravitate to.

As far as Wolverine goes, we will have to wait to see what the iconic comic characters future hold’s as Hugh Jackman has stated the upcoming Wolverine 3 will probably be his last film.
