Black Widow Ranks First in NEW Fandango Poll For Next Avengers Solo Film

According to a recent poll cited from ScreenRant , Fandango conducted a poll of 1000 moviegoers who already have tickets for Captain America: Civil War, which is set to release May 6th, 2016 .

The poll included several of the top Avengers who seem to get plenty of screen time, yet lack a solo franchise like, Iron Man, Captain America, or Thor.

Black Widow (played by the lovely Scarlett Johansson) made her debut in Iron Man 2, and has appeared in several of the other Avengers solo and team films. Her most prominent role was probably in Captain America: The Winter Soldier , in which many ( including myself ) believed she stole the show.

The Poll done for USA Today by Fandango, was of Scarlet Witch ( Elizabeth Olsen ), War Machine ( Don Cheadle ) , Hawkeye ( Jeremy Renner ) , the Vision ( Paul Bettany ) and Falcon ( Anthony Mackie ).

Black Widow destroyed the competition as she grossed a full 48% of the vote ( wow this sounds like Donald Trump against the other GOP ), with The Vision coming in second at 15%, Falcon at 12% , Hawkeye at 10%, War Machine at 8% and Scarlet Witch at 7%.

While it is no surprise Black Widow smashed the likes of The Vision , Falcon, and Scarlet Witch, it is a lot more surprising Hawkeye faced so low on the rankings ( as he has had close to the same amount of screen time as Black Widow ).

On a personal note, I think Black Widow should have gotten her own standalone movie after her performance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but knowing how Marvel has debuted their solo films it would be no surprise that a Black Widow movie would be put on such a indefinite hold.

Perhaps we should sign a petition for a Black Widow standalone film ?

  1. Having read this I thought it was very informative.

I appreciate you finding the time and energy to put this short
article together. I once again find myself personally spending way too much
time both reading and leaving comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
