In an interview with Larry King, Tyrese Gibson revealed he has a real shot at becoming the next John Stewart ( Green Lantern ) in the upcoming ‘Green Lantern Corps’ movie that was announced to arrive at some point of June 2020. While this news of another DCEU movie is far away, it does seem confirmed or at least speculated, they will portray more than one Green Lantern which will likely consist of John Stewart and Hal Jordan.

Who would you like to see play each Green Lantern?
The Interview Transcript Via ComicBook.com
Larry: You posted on Instagram that you want to play the Green Lantern in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Has it been cast yet?
Tyrese: It hasn’t been cast yet. I’m gonna tell you what really happened, Larry.
Larry: What really happened?
Tyrese: You know how they have fan-made kind of things online? A fan did this image of me as the Green Lantern.
Larry: A Fan proposed it?
Tyrese: A fan. And I was like, ‘Woah, that looks cool.’ And I posted it on my Instagram, and it just went crazy — over 1,500 sites. And it was just all of this buzz, and I was like I might as well run with this thing. And I did. Pissed the people off, a little bit, at Warner Brothers because they thought that I had convinced the world that I had landed the role, which I didn’t. And I said, “If you go down my timeline, at no point did I say the role is mine.” But, you know, there have been other artists, actors and actresses who have put up images of them as a comic book character and ended up landing a role. So I was like, it’s worth giving it a shot.
Larry: So, have you heard from Zack Snyder?
Larry: Maybe he’s watching.
Tyrese: I did meet with Warner Brothers, though.
Tyrese: And…um…shoot me a prayer, Larry.
Larry: You got a shot?
Tyrese: I do.
Larry: I loved the Green Lantern when I was a kid. That was a great comic book.
Tyrese: I would love it. I’ve taken the oath. I would love to do it.
Larry: I think you’re gonna get it.
Tyrese: I got the muscles for it. I can do 1,500 push-ups right now.
